It's The Season of Giving! | live civilly

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!  As we enter the 2014 “Season of Giving” live civilly, inc. is energized to see all of the good works going on!  From Food Drives to Clothing Drives, to public outreach, it seems that November and December are hustling and bustling with GOOD!  At this time of year, people are touched by that generous spirit that spurs even more people into action.  While live civilly, inc. has not conducted special events during the holiday season, there is always something happening with our “Little Man”!

Kick off the season and come out to the Moorestown Community Tree Lighting, Monday, December 1 at 6:30 PM on the lawn of the Moorestown Community House.  live civilly, inc. has been invited to attend and will be collecting non-perishable food items to donate to local food pantries.  The live civilly, inc. table will be on the driveway side of the Community House patio with collection receptacles.  Our friends from MooreKids will be collecting clothing.  For information about on-going food collections throughout the year to benefit local communities visit our website live civilly, inc..

Friday, December 5 is the December date for Food For All.  This collaborative event is a joint venture to help support local food pantries with live civilly, inc., MooreKids, Our Shared Ground, Sean Fischel Connect, MTPS and the MEA. Donations of non-perishable items can be sent to any of the Moorestown Schools on Friday and will be collected and distributed to the Live Civilly/Moorestown Ministerium Food Pantry, Bethel AME Food Pantry and First Baptist Church Food Pantry.

On Friday, December 5, Grounds For Good Coffee House (First United Methodist Church) has selected live civilly, inc. as the recipient of their donor funds to help live civilly, inc. continue its outreach in 2015.  Admission to Grounds for Good is free, but donations and proceeds will benefit Live Civilly this month.  Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. and music will begin around 8 p.m. Grounds for Good is a monthly event, generally held on the first Friday of each month from October through June. Each month features music by different performers and benefits a different local charity.  For more information visit the

Saturday, December 6 at 11:30, the Live Civilly Environmental Elves will be gathering on the lawn of the Community House to prepare for the Annual Holiday Parade.  This inaugural presentation of the Environmental Elves is designed to help keep the Main Street clean for merchants and residents alike.  This community service project for youth and families is designed to get kids thinking about all of the little ways we can help our communities.  Nearly 50 elves will line the parade route and help to pick up trash overflow which will then be collected by municipal trash collection.  There is still time to be an Elf – just click here.

Also on Saturday, December 6 the SEASON OF GIVING 3V3 Basketball Tournament will be played at the Church Street Rec Center and WAMS.  live civilly, inc., the Moorestown Youth Basketball Association and the Department of Parks & Recreation are working together to present this fundraising tournament to help continue and further develop nutritional outreach programs through the Department of Parks & Recreation.  Sign up at www.moorestownrec.com.

Looking forward to 2015 the live civilly, inc.
