Live Civilly First Annual 2016 Harvest Festival A Celebration of Volunteerism and Community Service | live civilly

This Fall, live civilly will host its First Annual Harvest Festival: A Celebration of Volunteerism & Community Service. This exciting event is scheduled for Saturday, November 5 from 5:00-9:00 PM and will be hosted by the Browning Hess Family Farm (est. 1898). Headline sponsor Harvest Seasonal Grill will cater the event which will feature a traditional Fall Harvest Menu for the Volunteer Awards Ceremony that will take place. The evening will be complete with hayrides, live music, the “perfect S’More Station” provided by Supporting Sponsor Wegmans of Mt. Laurel and family fun to celebrate Community Service!

This family friendly festival will be a celebration of live civilly’s first five years of community volunteerism and community service. Over the last five years live civilly has increased its volunteer base by nearly 900%, offering youth and their families opportunities to actively engage in hands-on volunteer opportunities that benefit their community. The food pantry that live civilly opened in 2011 has increased its service to the community by more than 250% and has served over 130,000 meals to date. Concurrently, more than 500 pounds of fresh produce has been delivered to the Food Pantry through live civilly’s Community Supported

Garden Projects. More than 3,100 lunches have been provided to at-risk youth through our Summer Lunch Program. Additionally, through the ExCELS Snack Program with the Moorestown Department of Parks & Recreation, live civilly has provided more than 28,000 healthy after-school snacks to at-risk youth. live civilly has also provided more than 1,200 hours of peer supported academic assistance (peer tutoring). All of the programs, all of the services and all of the endeavors of live civilly have been executed through youth service opportunities and this is truly a reason to celebrate!

The live civilly Harvest Festival will be set on the beautiful Browning Hess Farm, the oldest and longest running family farm in Moorestown. Third-generation Owner, Debbie Hess and her family have graciously opened their farm to live civilly for this inaugural event. The evening will feature live local music and entertainment as well as delicious food celebrating the bounty of fall. Celebrating the final harvest of the fall season is a wonderful way to thank all of our volunteers and contributors for their support and generosity! Hayrides to tour the farm will bring attendees back to the bonfire where marshmallows can be roasted at the Perfect S’More Station.

The evening will be complete with a Volunteer Award Ceremony, recognizing those individuals and groups who have participated in our programs and events over the last five years…volunteers who have conducted food drives, worked in our food pantry, who have built, tended and harvested our gardens, have volunteered with our Homework Help program, participated in our Community Service Club, been Environmental Elves and or any one of many volunteer opportunities! We wish to thank our Hosting Sponsor Browning Hess Farm, our Food Sponsor Harvest Seasonal Grill, our Perfect S’More Station Sponsor, Wegmans of Mt. Laurel and our Supporting Sponsors Holman Automotive Group, Kourlesis Law Firm, Republic Bank and the Moorestown Breakfast Rotary.

Tickets are available at www.livecivilly.org for $25 per person or $100 per family. Family Sponsorships are available as well! Please join us in this inaugural event celebrating the bounty of the harvest, and the bounty of volunteerism. Join the live civilly Nation of people helping people helping people helping people!
