MJA thank you for your support! | live civilly

I don’t know about all of you, but we here at live civilly is ready to usher in the Fall and to celebrate with our community in so many ways! We have had a tremendous summer with the many programs that we run, and are looking forward to getting back into our Fall activities.  We have realized over the years that this community of ours is certainly a special one.  There are so many wonderful organizations doing amazing things, that help and support our neighbors in need and we are pleased to be a part of it! Over the next MJA "Swing In The New Year" GALAfew weeks, we will be highlighting some of the wonderful events that are going on to honor live civilly.  The first event coming up this month is the First Annual New Year’s Event Gala hosted by community partner, the Moorestown Jewish Association.  live civilly will be honored at their Annual Gala for our common goal of “people helping people!”  We are tremendously grateful and very excited about their event!

For those of you who don’t know about The Moorestown Jewish Association, the MJA is a welcoming, inclusive, community-focused organization open to ALL Jewish residents, affiliated and unaffiliated. MJA facilitates opportunities to discover the vibrant Jewish community within our own hometown. MJA fosters relationships through community-based Jewish experiences, such as pop-up Shabbats, holiday events, educational activities, and fun social gatherings for our friends and neighbors of all ages.

The Moorestown Jewish Association supports the greater Moorestown community through tikkun olam, interfaith initiatives, and community partnerships to promote the values of community and compassion. MJA strongly believes in the idea of Tikkun Olam, or repairing the world. It is this mindset that drives their initiatives to strive to give back and help to build up our community.

When I asked representatives from MJA why they had selected live civilly, Event Organizer, Kelly Gorel offered this statement:  “After hearing Kahra [Buss] speak at a Moorestown Ministerium meeting earlier this year, the MJA board decided they wanted to do more for this phenomenal organization that truly lives the idea of Tikkun Olam every day with all that they do. In the past, MJA has joined our partners at the Moorestown Ministerium and has helped to sponsor the ExCELS program, the partnership program that benefits the . This year, we want to honor live civilly, for their wonderful social action work, to which a portion of ticket sales will be donated.”

So what does MJA have planned?  Their First Annual New Year’s Gala!! Dust off your dancing shoes because MJA is “Swinging in the New Year” at the 1st annual New Year’s Gala on October 9, 2016 from 6pm – 10pm at Laurel Creek Country Club.  This invitation to the greater public to join them for a fun evening of dinner, cocktails and dancing will be complete with a performance by the amazing NYC swing band, Sarah King and the Smoke Rings. Tickets are $60 each for MJA members and $75 each for non-members and can be purchased at www.moorestownjewishassociation.org .

Thank you to all of our community partners for all of the amazing support you have shown live civilly.  And thank you to the Moorestown Jewish Association for selecting live civilly as a beneficiary of your First Annual New Year’s Gala!
